First Meeting of 2011

Our first meeting for 2011 was held on February 14, 2011 and was a great fellowship time for all. We have received many lovely items for the little ones so our new year has started out well.

We had some snacks, shared the projects that we were all working on and read the thank you notes that we have received from the hospital NICU units that we had sent items to.

Our last deliveries of 2010 were discussed with a total of 5, 139 items to 44 hospital NICU units.
It was a blessed year for our group and we are looking forward to a great year in 2011.

Our next meeting will be Monday, April 11, 2011 - hope to see you there. As we begin our spring themed items for the little ones.

November Meeting

Just a reminder to our local members...

We will not be meeting during the month of November. Take this time to work on your Christmas items for the babies and we will meet in December.

Our latest hospital delivery was September 29, 2010. We sent items out to six different hospital NICU units with a delivery total of 574 items.

Our group numbers have been low but our spirit is very high. We have several members who are sick or have family members that need care so please remember them in your prayers.

The past two months were great months for TTT. We had some wonderful donations and several requests from hospitals for items - God really blessed us this month.

Springing Forward

With Spring here TTT is beginning to pick-up our needles and making plans for some wonderful little outfits for our NICU babies.

March and April were good months and we were able to provide lots of goodies for the hospitals. We served seven hospitals and provided 625 items!

125 Blankets - 175 Hats - 125 pr. Booties/Socks - 25 Outfits

150 Stuffed Animals - 25 Pacifiers

2010 Begins

The first of 2010 has been a cold and snowy one here in our area but not as bad as many states have endured. We have been forced to change some of our meetings due to the weather but we still have warm hearts and are working hard to share the love.

For the months of January and February we served 5 hospitals and sent a total of 525 items.

100 blankets, 100 bootie/socks, 75 animals, 50 pacifers,
25 washcloths, 25 outfits, 150 hats. Awesome ladies!

We have the final totals for November and December..so 2009 comes to an end. Even with the economy slow down, tight funds and many job losses we provided for many little ones. How God has blessed our ministry this year! We ended 2009 with a total of 6,003 items delivered.

Wow, these two months went by fast and I am so sorry I forgot to post the April totals. I cannot believe that I did that but old age is catching up with me..so...here is the totals...

April - 6 Hospitals - 660 Items

May - 6 Hospitals - 691 Items

The end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009

As we have come to the end of another year of TTT I want to thank you all for making this ministry such a blessing for so many. It has been such a special year for many families because you have shared the love of Christ with some of God's children. Bless you all!

2008 in short review....
.... we shipped and/or delivered to 100 hospital NICU this year
.... we shipped and/or delivered 11,270 items
.... we shipped to hospitals in several different states this year including Alaska and Hawaii - TTT has now shipped to all 50 states!

2009 will mark the 10th anniversary of Teeny Tiny Treasures. God has done many great things through this group and I am so very thankful that He has allowed me to be a part of it. May God continue to bless our efforts and give us great tasks for 2009.

In January we served 5 hospitals - and shipped 100 blankets, 110 hats, 110 bootie sets, 75 animals, 10 bib-burp pads, 10 washcloths - a total of 415 items. A very good start to the new year.

2008 leaves with a blessing

December was an awesome month for TTT! Even though the holiday season was a busy one....finances were tight for us all...and we had a short time to get the deliveries to the hospitals...we still had one of the largest donation months of 2008!

I am always amazed at how we can all come together and work to provide for so many of God's little ones - thank you all.

Donations were sent to 14 hospitals during December.
We shipped and/or delivered 1,331 items....
...350 blankets....400 hats...22 gowns...300 sets of booties...34 bibs/burps...and 225 animals!

November - a month of thanks...

...a time to give thanks for the many blessings that we have received. Teeny Tiny Treasures has indeed been blessed this year and we are very thankful for all of the items that we have received. The TTT ministry could not provide for God's little ones if we did not have help from so many kind hearts. For each of you ...we are very thankful.

During the month of November....we served 5 hospitals and special agencies.

The Delivery total for the month was 502 items! A very wonderful month for the NICU.

Thank you all so much for making it a special month for so many families and little ones.

December is our "Christmas Get Together" and "year-end round-up" so everyone please come and join us at our December meeting.

It seems as the year moves along the months go by faster and faster. I cannot believe that October has come and gone so quickly. Leaves are falling, we have had several frosts here in North Carolina and the crisp tempertures of Autumn are here.

October was a wonderful month for TTT. We had so many lovely items come in for the babies this month - and it was a very good month too!

..We served 13 hospitals during the month of October and distributed 1,247 items! Awesome Job!

The end of September has arrived..

..and Teeny Tiny Treasures had another wonderful month. So many beautiful items were received and shipped to the babies - it was just awesome.

We supplied items for babies in 9 different hospitals this month and one local SAFE house. The following items were shipped...

117 blankets
196 hats
176 pair of booties
39 clothing items
104 bibs/burp pads
117 stuffed animals
4 totes
....for a total of 753 items!

All of the hospitals have been so appreciative of the items that we have sent. There is such a great need and the NICU staff are always so kind to us.

Just a note (FYI) we are starting to get more NICU staff that are notifying us that the stuffed animals cannot be used in the units. It seems that a medical study has shown that the animals cannot be sterilized and/or washed sufficiently to remove all bacteria from the stuffing in the animals. We will continue to ship the animals to the units that will use them as well as those who use them as take home goodies. But for those who are donating to your local hospitals..please check with the NICU staff about the animals.

October will be everyday items - baby prints etc. and for those who are working ahead ...you can begin to plan for Christmas.

For the month of August...

..lots of little ones were blessed by the caring hearts and loving stitches of many TTT volunteers. We had a wonderful work meeting for the month and shared lots of laughs, stories, cookies and just good fellowship. It is such a joy to gather together and work on items for the little ones - everyone has such a great time.

This month we shipped and/or delivered to 7 hospitals a total of 722 items.
125 blankets, 275 hats, 10 clothing items, 175 pr. booties/socks, 10 burp pads, 125 stuffed animals and 2 tote bags.

We will now begin to work on our Halloween sets for the littles ones...so think pumpkins, ghosts, and happy witches everyone.

July was a very busy month for most of our TTT members - Vacation Bible School, Revivals, Vacations and some had some sick family but it was still a good month. Our totals are smaller but the love that we placed into each item was huge.

Four hospitals were served in July and a total of 370 items were delivered. The following items were sent to the little ones;

Super Simple Knit Preemie Blanket

Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart)
Size 11 Knitting Needles

Cast on 52 stitches.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Knit
Row 3-?: Repeat row 2 until blanket measures 18" in length. Bind off.

**Entire blanket is worked in garter stitch. If you use a varigated yarn it makes a lovely blanket. You can add a crochet edging if you like or adorn with crochet appliques - the possiblities are endless.*

Using 1 strand of yarn, cast on using the “E” method.
Wrap pegs again – now you have 2 rows on pegs.
Knit off row by lifting bottom stitch over the top stitch – continue around loom.
Wrap yarn all around again and knit off as before.
Continue this until you have completed 10 rows.
Now for the cuff: lift the cast on row up through center of loom and place
The stitches on the pegs – one stitch at a time creating two stitches on pegs.
Knit this row off and your brim is completed.
Wrap yarn around again and knit off as before.
Continue this until you have completed 20 rows.
Now to finish off: remove bootie from loom with the gathering method –
Pull end closed and secure – this finishes the toe.
Now --- make one more J

10 Minute Crochet Preemie Hat

Materials:
G Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn

**I have timed this pattern and it actually only takes me 10 minutes to make a hat. How simple can you get J

This hat is worked in the round – do not turn after each row.

Ch 3
Rnd 1: 12 dc in 3rd chain from the hook, join with a sl st to beginning ch 3.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in same stitch as ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch around, join with sl st to beginning ch 2.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, join with sl st to beginning ch 2.
Rnd 4-7: Repeat row 3.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sl st in each dc around, join with sl st to beginning ch 1, fasten off. Weave in ends.
Rnd 8 Variations:
Ch 1, reverse sc around, join & fasten off.
Ch 1, sc around, join & fasten off.
Ch 1, sc, *ch 1, sc*, repeat * around, join & fasten off.

This is an excellent pattern to use up scraps, just make each row, a different color, or make hat one color and Rnd 8 a different color. Just be creative!

June is Over?

It is hard to believe that the month of June is gone. Time certainly goes by quickly - especially when you are busy.

And busy the TTT volunteers certainly were! With school being out, gardens starting, and vacation time the month of June is always a busy month for everyone so our numbers are usually lower. But the month turned out to be a really good one for the babies.

For the month of June the following was delivered:
149 blankets, 192 hats, 15 clothing items, 156 pr. of booties, 7 bibs/burp pads, 101 stuffed animals, and 12 tote bags.
A grand total of 632 items - delivered to 9 hospitals.

Marvelous May...

It was a marvelous May for TTT. Even though this was a very busy month for so many of our members.....school ending, graduations, weddings, vacations..etc. it was an outstanding month.

We had so many lovely items to send to the little ones this month and they were all so appreciated by the hospital staff and their families. Thank you all so much for sharing the love with the little ones.

And now for our totals.....

I have the totals for April calculated and it was another awesome month for TTT. A truly awesome month for the TTT ministry.

God is truly blessing the ministry and we are all so thankful for the many volunteers that donate their time and talents to share with God's little ones.

So many babies have been touched through your wonderful work - Praise God for all of you.

This month TTT was able to serve sixteen (16) hospitals in eleven (11) different states.

We shipped and/or delivered the following:

May will be one of our "everyday months" which means that we will be working on general baby color items - not any holiday related items. This will be one of our month's to rebuild our stock items such as blankets, hats, and booties so we can ship the needed items for the NICU. So choose your favorite color - your favorite pattern - and have fun! All items are needed but as always blankets are a very needed item.

Marvelous March!

It was a marvelous March for TTT - so many wonderful things happened this month - so we are very thankful for all the blessings that God has given to us this month.

The ministry was blessed with a very generous donation from one of the people in the community. We are very appreciative of the special gift from Mr. K. - his love gift will buy many supplies for our ministry. We have already begun to watch the sales for fabrics, threads, yarns, stuffing, etc. so we can plan our purchases wisely.

During the month of March the TTT minstry delivered to six (6) hospital NICU units and the following items were given:

152 Animals - 151 pair of Booties - 26 Clothing Items - 556 Hats and 210 Blankets
A total of 1,095 items! Awesome work dear friends - so many touched by your kindness.

April will be a big month for TTT as we have already had so many lovely items to come in. So I look for wonderful totals next month.

April is "Spring Month" so as you are making your special items for the little ones - think Spring colors - we want to see the NICU covered with little baby flowers!

February was a sweetheart of a month..

..February is the heart month, the valentine month...the month where we all share the love...the love month!

And the love month it was for TTT as our wonderful volunteers shared the love with the preemie and newborn babies in hospitals across the state. Adorable hats, booties, blankets and gowns that would keep the little ones warm and cozy as well as special little animals to be placed in their cribs so that they would know that they were being thought of and prayed for by many, many people. Yes indeed the dear friends of TTT worked very hard to share the love this month.

TTT made deliveries to the NICU units of ten (10) different hospitals and delivered a total of 855 items. There were 239 blankets....239 hats...2 gowns...239 pr. booties...and 136 animals. Awesome work everyone.

The month of March will be our Easter theme month so we will be concentrating on items that have pastels, happy spring colors and Easter designs. So...let's cut out those bunnies and have fun making this Easter a very special one for some of God's tiny miracles.

Yes! A very big bang! The TTT members have been working so very hard and we have already begun shipping special items to the "little ones."

We received some very kind thank you notes and emails from the hospitals that we served last year - we do appreciate those so much.

And we are all geared up in love and faith ready to have another wonderful year for the Lord and his TTT ministry.

For the month of January we shipped out 1,045 items to eleven (11) different hospitals. Here is the breakdown:

250 blankets -- 400 hats -- 175 pr. booties -- 200 stuffed animals -- 2 tote bags -- 8 burp pads -- and 10 gowns/dresses.

Awesome! So many families have been blessed by your generous gifts. We are busy working on Valentine's Day outfits now - soon will be here.

Our year comes to an end....

and wow what a year it has been! With the wonderful help of so many people TTT has had another record breaking year.

Our donation totals went way...way...way above last year as well as our number of hospitals almost tripled.

But...I am getting ahead of myself here...first the totals and deliveries for December are in order.

During the month of December TTT served ten (10) hospitals and delivered the following: 225 blankets, 290 hats, 15 clothing items, 225 bootie sets, 12 bib/burp sets, 225 animals for a total of 992 items!

And for the year of 2007 - 36 Hospitals were Served - 15,162 items were delivered.

Awesome job everyone - Praise the Lord for his blessings and may He get the glory for these accomplishments.

So many little ones have been warmed, families have been comforted by knowing that someone is praying for them and cares and the spirit of Christain love has been shared - thank you all so much for making this such a wonderful year for the TTT Ministry.

May your New Year be filled with peace, joy, health and blessings too numerous to count and I will see you next year.

November Delivery Totals

TTT made deliveries to six (6) hospitals during the month of November - one was our local hospital and the other five we shipped the items to the NICU hospitals.

It was a very good month with a total of 1,438 items being sent to the little ones. Another awesome month - many blessings. If the Lord continues to bless our little group we will top 15,000 items this year. Just think of all the little miracles that have been warmed by the generous hearts of so many. We are so very thankful for all who helped us to provide for the babies and their families. Special blessings for everyone during this Thanksgiving season.

October Deliveries...

October was another good month for TTT. We shipped to six (6) hospitals as well as provided for several special needs - what a blessing!

We were blessed by many, many items from our internet friends, especially the Markman Loom Group - they have been just awesome this year.

Below is our totals for the month:
112 Blankets... 687 hats.....15 clothing items...87 bootie sets...112 animals....100 tote bags
For a total of 1,113 items for this month! Woo hoo!

Next month is Christmas Items....so we will be making tiny santa hats :)

September is Gone....

It is hard to believe but another month has come and gone. September was a slower month for TTT as we did not have as many requests has we have had in the past few months. So...it was a great month to catch up and prepare for the upcoming holiday.

TTT served six hospitals in September - shipping 114 blankets, 114 hats, 114 pair of booties, and 114 animals. This brings our yearly total to 11,619 items.

We will have our monthly work meeting on Monday, October 8th at Cub Creek Baptist. For our local ladies come prepared to work on Halloween goodies.

Awesome August!

August was an awesome month for TTT. God blessed the hands of our volunteers and also provided some beautiful donations from friends.

This was the biggest month that TTT has had since I started working with the ministry. Thank you all who were a part of providing for the little ones...God Bless you all.

And for the totals....... We served twelve (12) hospitals
And sent the following: 1,093 hats... 474 blankets...42 items of clothing...471 pair of booties... 13 bib/burp pads....353 stuffed animals...12 tote bags......for a grand total of 2,457 items for the month of August.

This brings our year-t0-date total of donations to 11,163. Praise the Lord - what a wonderful thing. Lots and lots of God's tiny miracles have been warmed this month.

We will start working on Halloween outfits for our September meeting - so get out that orange yarn and let's make some cute little goblins in the NICU this year.

Last year's total is busted!

Woo hoo! TTT has passed last year's total and we still have five months to go in this year. What a blessing! Teeny Tiny Treasures had a wonderful month in July - so many beautiful items were donated for the babies and we had a super time distributing them to the hospitals.

We sent donations to six hospitals this month as well as did a few special requests. The NICU staff members were so kind and we know that all the items will be appreciated and loved.

August will be our "everyday items" month. Any baby friendly colors will be great - so we can replenish our inventory.

Goodbye June

June was a great month for TTT - we made deliveries to six hospitals - with a delivery total of 736 items! How wonderful!

The red, white, and blue items were loved by the nursing staff and I know that the families will be so surprised to see their little ones all decked for the 4th of July.

We got a very nice thank you note from Presbyterian Hospital and a phone call from the hospital in Murphy. Murphy was a new one for our group but they were so pleased to be added to our donation list so we will continue to serve them.

A special thank you to Lynn Markman and her looming group for the wonderful items that they sent to TTT. Lynn had a special contest which centered on items sent to TTT - the babies will be blessed by their lovely items.

And a very special thanks to the "Special Angels" for the wonderful hats and blankets that they sent for the babies. You angels are really special.

Looking forward to a great July....... 7, 790 items and growing....

....our new spot on the web. Our ISP has decided to discontinue free websites so TTT needed to find a new home. Since our group is non-profit and relies solely on donations a free site was essential so.....here we are.

Our other site http://home.earthlink.net/~teenytinytreasures/ will up until October 1, 2007 and we can add information to it until then. After that date I do not know if it will stay on the web but we cannot access it after that date to update it.

I know alot of the features that we had on our old site will not be available here but we will do the best we can to keep you updated on all the events of TTT using the tools we have at hand for now.
